ing: speculating in the present continuous is an open-source web platform and exhibition space that provides an action-based framework for leveraging speculative ideation. ing (intentionally lower caps and the suffix of present continuous verbs) is developed through a collaborative curatorial approach that invites different visual artists to respond to some prompts by conceiving a series of exercises.

Thus, ing will provide a repository of tools for people to engage with speculation and construct meaning through actions, learning by making—verbs rather than nouns. The exercises are framed through a methodology of play that allows people to embrace chance—a fundamental vehicle to reach a speculative mindset, one that embraces a plurality of outcomes and unpredictability. Within the project's core are the following key questions:

- What is speculation?

- How can we enter a speculative mindset?

- What if we break the cumulative force from the past by stepping and creating for the future?

- Can play and chance be a vehicle to leverage speculation?

About me

Designer, strategist, and project manager with over eight years of experience in cultural institutions and creative industries. I have directed and coordinated the research and production of art exhibitions and educational programs. Moreover, I have also developed independent curatorial projects with emerging artists, including MALL—an experimental project of art wearables I co-founded and directed. MALL intends to explore wearables as spaces to exchange information, seeking places for disseminating and discussing contemporary art outside the institutional, domestic, and digital walls. My interest lies in speculating alternative spaces of circulation through collaborative practices.
