Automating the CEFR Assessment of User-like Generated videos for Language Learning
What makes LIS different to other universities is that you learn to be uncomfortably within the unknown, and learn the skills needed to orient yourself. You learn to be surrounded by people different to you, and you learn to work with them towards a common goal. While I feel at other universities you’re to avoid these two situations, at LIS you’re encouraged and guided through them that it’s impossible to finish the three years not having any skills and experience with them. People and ‘the unknown’ are situations you will encounter personally and professionally throughout your life. In my case these skills are currently helping me work with a never-ending code base at work and planning a ski trip with friends.
Go to Univeristy, to lectures, do the activities and listen to the talks. Just engage with what you can but don’t overdo it, if you’re going somewhere because of FOMO, just don’t go. Give yourself 2 goals for the three years and you’ll achieve it.
Amazing amazing amazing! It will be hard to find something like this at other universities. Alisha is a star, but so are all the staff, even the ‘thoughest’ ones are understanding and have your best interest at heart. Just ask for help when you need it and be honest.
