Under a Date Palm
Haadiyah Cassam, BASc 23/24

"Under a Date Palm" is an immersive participatory arts-based workshop designed to intertwine the rich tapestry of Islamic teachings with the pressing global narratives of climate change and environmental stewardship.

This event invites members of the Muslim community in London to explore and express their relationship with the Earth through various artistic mediums. Set beneath the metaphorical shade of a date palm—a symbol of prosperity, resilience, and communal life in Islamic culture—participants will engage in activities that reflect on sustainable living guided by faith.
