"Last Universal Common Ancestor (LUCA)" explores the origins of life, hypothesizing a common ancestral cell from which all living beings descend. By revisiting LUCA, the exhibition shifts focus away from human-centric narratives, highlighting life's abstract, ever-changing nature.
Inspired by Ray Bradbury's "The Sound of Thunder," it delves into the fragility of existence and speculates on alternate evolutionary paths.
The exhibition invites reflection on non-human dramas that resonate with universal themes of life and death. Featuring works by the SEADS collective, Mary Pedicini, and wall-based perspex work by Hanne Peeraer.
